Maxigro has partnered with a leading South African Avocado Producer to trial a concept that is new to South Africa – Fibre Glass Plant Stakes.
For any business or grower who has their own tree nursery, be it macadamias, timber, avocados, citrus or even ornamental trees for landscapers and gardeners, working with the traditional wooden stakes is regarded as the only option… because… that is all we know!
However, leading cultivators and growers overseas have caught onto the benefits of using Fibre Glass Plant stakes for the multitude of benefits (link to the fibre glass plants stakes benefits and features page) they offer over the use of wooden stakes. The trials are ongoing, and once complete, the results will show the difference between the growth of a sapling growing on a wooden stake versus a sapling growing with a fibreglass stake. Already there has been significant positive evidence to show a better root and growth factor.
